Navigating the I-9 Maze and the new W4- This event is designed to help you navigate the form I-9. The UCIS form I-9 was developed to help employers verify the identity and employment authorization of each person they hire. Even though it may seem like a simple form and compliance seems straight forward, it is a maze of obstacles that can expose employers to large fines and penalties for hiring unauthorized workers, as well as fines for simply committing paperwork violations on authorized workers. This training will help employers properly complete the I-9 Form. The session will help employers realize the importance of the I-9 audit and retention protocols.
The presenter will also discuss the importance of understanding the new W4 and how to use it to compute withholding. Examples of filling out the W4 form will be given that will help the HR professional understand how to help employees understand how to fill out the form. The new W4 form is a requirement for new hires to complete in 2020.
Pre-approved for 1 PDCS for SHRM and HRCI re-certification.
Lunch begins at 11:30 am, with the meeting to begin promptly at 12:00 noon. The meeting will conclude at 1:15 pm and has been approved for recertification credits.
